Golf Classic

A sincere thank you to all who helped make our Golf Classic such a great success. From all those local business’ and individuals who sponsored tee boxes and teams to those who supported our lotto on the day. A special word of thanks to Jack Maher and Kieran O’Dwyer who manned the barbeque for the two days and kept all the golfers well fed. Congratulations to all our winners on the day as well.

Mid Junior League Division 3

Boherlahan Dualla 0-20 Knock 3-7

For the first time since the late 90’s Boherlahan Dualla have a third adult hurling team. With so many players progressing from the juvenile ranks, competition for places hasn’t been as fierce for a good few years but a third team is the ideal way to give everyone games. Interesting point, the last Junior B Hurling game the club played was in 2018 when they won two County Junior titles and that unbeaten streak continues. Travelling to Clonmore to take on a physical Knock, the team was a nice blend of youthful exuberance and seasoned guile. From the start, Boherlahan Dualla showed a willingness to get stuck in and looked to move the ball at pace. Displaying an unrelenting work rate right to the final whistle we were able to keep Knock at arms lengths for the entire encounter. Next up the face Killea in Boherlahan at 6:45pm on Friday 21st April

County Hurling League Division 4

Boherlahan Dualla 2-20 Carrick Davins 0-16

On Sunday our Intermediates made it 3 wins from 3 in this year’s county League. Playing against a strong breeze, Carrick Davins went 3 points up half way through the first half but Boherlahan Dualla remained composed to go in at half time two points up. Playing with the win in the second half allowed for a more direct approach which paid dividends with two goals coming as a result. With two games still to go, one win from either of those games should be good enough to see us through to the knockout stages. Next up is a trip away to Kiladagan in two weeks’ time.

County Hurling League Division 5

Boherlahan Dualla 1-13 Ballylooby Castlegrace 2-13

Playing against a strong breeze in the first half, we had stayed in touch with Ballylooby in the opening half until they scored 2 goals shortly before half time just before the break. We went in at half time down by 6 points. Despite a spirited fightback, we never seemed to be able to bridge the gap going down ultimately by a goal. With only one win from three, we will need something from both of our final games if we hope to progress to the knockout stages. Next up is local derby against Knockavilla Kickhams.

Pitch committee Clean up

It is that time once again with the weather improving where we carry out general maintenance and clean up our proud Gaa facility. We are proposing to carry out works over a couple of Saturday’s, the first next Saturday April 22nd and then again towards the end of May or start of June. We are appealing for volunteers nest Saturday from 1pm for a couple of hours to help with strimming, weeding, spraying, filling potholes in the carpark, painting complex doors and a general tidy up.

We are appealing to all club mentors, players, parents and members across the Senior Club, Juvenile club, Camogie and Ladies Football clubs who can spare an hour or two of your time to get involved and help complete the work before the season kicks off in full swing. Ní neart go cur le chéile/ many hand make light work of this task.
