After a disappointing first round defeat, our Intermediate team will be looking to bounce back straight away when they take on Carrick Davins in the second round of the County Intermediate Championship. All support would be gratefully appreciated.
Boherlahan Ladies Football
We travelled to Croke Park yesterday to the TG4 All Ireland Ladies Gaelic Football Final.
What a fantastic day out for all our young and not so young. All Ireland ladies Football Day marked the end of our #OneGoodClub journey. We were presented with a One Good Club Plaque along with the other nominated clubs throughout Ireland. Mairead, our wonderful secretary lined up on this iconic pitch at half time to accept this lovely memorandum.
Such a proud day for our club. Many thanks to all parents, coaches, community members, committee members, friends and neighbours who brought this #OneGoodClub concept alive in our community. Raising awareness of mental health with our community was key to the success of the initiative. A special thanks to Niamh & Michelle of JIGSAW for facilitating a brilliant #onegoodcoach workshop.
Lastly, we had an absolute ball travelling up to Croke Park yesterday. The kids, coaches & parents had great fun and sporting entertainment. We were waving the Kerry flag and what a great game it was. Meath are without a doubt worthy winners and a massive congratulations to you all from @ Boherlahan Dualla LGFA. It’s safe to say the sport of Ladies Gaelic football were the outright winners yesterday with a massive 46,000 in Croke Park. Onwards and upwards for our great club and sport.
Dualla Show
After a break of two years, The Dualla Show is back on Sunday 28th August. It promises to be a high-quality event with the best in livestock, show jumping, stalls, food and demos - not to mention the premier truck show in the country, a completely free circus and incredible free kids entertainment. This year's Dualla Show also brings you a superb music line-up with our own fabulous Trudi Lalor hosting a quality lineup of country music artists including Mick Flavin, Brendan Shine, Paul Kelly, T.R. Dallas, Sabrina Fallon and Aisling Rafferty. Music starts at 2pm on the big stage and will continue throughout the afternoon with a large dance floor.
It’s only though the hard work of the show committee and its team of volunteers is such an event possible. Ní neart go cur le chéile. If anyone else is available for Stewarding etc. can you please let Sean Moloughney know!
Weekly Lotto
There was no winner of this week’s lotto worth €5,600. The numbers drawn were 9 – 14 – 21 - 31. Next week’s Lotto jackpot is €5,800. Congratulations to our five luck dips winners, Mary McElwaine, Sinead Ryan, Darren Carew, Sandra Gleeson and Paddy Cullen who all won €50 each.
Supporting the lotto each and every week means so much to our club and our community. From as little as €2 per week, our lotto covers the costs for the upkeep and maintenance of our pitches and facilities including the walkway. It is raising funds for our complex redevelopment as we seek to expand and modernise for our ever growing club.
