Mid Intermediate Hurling Championship Final

Boherlahan Dualla 3-16

Drom & Inch 1-15

After a break of 41 years the Tommy Treacy Perpetual Cup has come back to the parish of Boherlahan Dualla. After a tight opening quarter, on 15 minutes, James O’Sullivan managed to get a flick on the edge of the square to grab the opening goal to put us into the lead. Credit to Drom, they managed to stay with us the whole way through the first half. Our second goal from James Kirby followed on the 25th minute to open a small bit of daylight at the break as we led by 4 points. A good start to the second half saw us extend that lead to seven before Drom hit a purple patch and scored 4 points without reply. In the 40 minute Tossy Ryan stepped up to score our third goal to extend out the lead again giving a man of the match performance finishing with a personal tally of 1-14. He had able support with Euan Ryan, Martin Paul O Dwyer, Niall O Dwyer, Seamus Leahy and Darragh Lacey also playing key roles in Willie Hickey’s side On a warm day in Littleton, superior fitness and determination carried the boys through to a long awaited mid title. There is very little time to rest on their laurels as we are out in the County Championship next Friday evening at 7:30pm in Cashel against Golden Kilfeacle.

Brighter days ahead for sure. Our U12 Team 1 girls won Division 1 Platinum County Final on home turf at Boherlahan Dualla GAA. These girls played a great game on Sunday 17th July V Clonmel Commercials Ladies Football Club and reined victorious in the end. Many thanks to Clonmel for a challenging match in scorching weather conditions. Our club hosted the day with 12 teams playing on our pristine pitches. Many thanks to all personnel involved in making today run so smoothly. A big thank you to Tipperary Ladies Football and Chairman Michael Towey for supporting the teams throughout the day with presentations and words of encouragement for all the girls and coaches. Finally, congratulations to our talented bunch of girls & coaches in the club.

As part of the #KeepLearning Theme for #OneGoodClub we have worked with Jigsaw Tipperary to Learn more about how the adults of our club can promote young people’s mental health. We attended a One Good Coach Workshop at the Jigsaw Centre in Thurles on Tues 12th July. The aim of the workshop was:
- Gain an understanding of mental health,
- Learn about the benefits of sports participation for youth mental health,
- Gain an understanding of the importance of the role of One Good Adult for youth mental health,
- Have a greater awareness about how to promote and support young people’s mental health and
- Learn about their local Jigsaw Service.
This is an excellent workshop and thanks to Jigsaw for facilitating for us.

Boherlahan Dualla Juvenile Club

We had a very successful Cùl Camp last week in Boherlahan. The weather obliged as over 160 kids from the parish took part. During the week we had visits from Conor Bowe and County Chairman Joe Kennedy. Huge thanks to everyone who helped out, in particular Edwina Leamy, John Fahey and Maria Gleeson who gave up their week to ensure a successful event.

The U15s continued their North / Mid hurling league in advance of the championship starting. The U11s had 2 great football games v Durlas Og on Sunday evening. The U7 and U9s had a well-deserved break from training this week after Cùl Camp.

Mid Tipp U17A Championship

Boherlahan Dualla 3 -14

Drum & Inch 3-13

On Monday evening our U17’s made the trip to The Ragg to take on Drom & Inch in the second round of the Mid Championship in a nail biting game. Drom got off to the better start having two goals scored within the first five minutes. Credit to the U17’s who kept plugging away but with the match going into injury time, they were down by two points. However, a goal with the last puck of the game meant that the honours went to the Blue and Sash. Next up, on Monday 25th, we welcome on a buoyant Moycarkey Borris side who had an impressive win over Durlas Óg
