Boherlahan Dualla Camogie Club
Boherlahan Dualla 2-11
Newport 0-15
2022 has really got off to a flying start for Boherlahan Dualla Camogie Club. In our first year playing Intermediate Camogie the girls have won the League Final. The final was played against Newport in Kilcommon on Sat 14th of May and the girls pulled off a superb performance to win the title. What an amazing achievement for our club and a massive well done to all involved! Thanks to everyone who came along to support the girls. We are looking forward to the Intermediate Championship which will take place later in the year.
Boherlahan Dualla 5-14
Brian Borus 1-3
We are enjoying some great success at underage level also. Our U16 girls won the U16A/B Shield with a very impressive performance against Brian Borus in the final last Wednesday. Our U15 girls won the Feile A final in May and will now represent Tipperary at the National Feile Finals in Abbotstown on Saturday 25th of June. The very best of luck to the players and management.
Our U14s and U12s have all been in action in recent weeks and are flying the flag high for the club with great performances all-round. Well done to all of the coaches involved with our U6s, U8s and U10s who are doing trojan work also.
Boherlahan Dualla Gaa Club
County Hurling League Semi Final
Boherlahan Dualla 2 –12
Moyle Rovers 0-20
A poor first half display will go down as the ultimate cause of this defeat with Moyle Rovers leading by 8 points at the break. There was a spirted fightback in the second half with goals from James Murphy and James Kirby and a crucial penalty save from Darragh Lacey dragging the Blue and Sash back into the game. However two late points from Moyle Rovers ensured victory to the South Men and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming County League Final. The intermediates have a break now until the Mid Championship in the middle of July. In the meanwhile attention switches codes as our Junior Footballers are in action at home to JK Brackens on Tuesday 31st May at 7:30pm
U17A County Hurling League
Boherlahan Dualla 1-21
Toomevara 1-12
Our U17 hurlers put in a well-rounded team performance to see off Toomevara on Monday 23rd May to leave them on 5 points after 4 games played. Next up, they welcome neighbours Moycarkey Borris to Boherlahan for their final round game on Monday 30th May.
U11 Michael Hogan Football Tournament.
Well done to our two U11 boys teams who travelled to Durlas Óg and Rosegreen last Saturday to take part in the second year of the Michael Hogan Football tournament. Despite the heat, both teams displayed no end of effort, determination and skill showing that they are as adapt with the big ball as they are with the small ball and only lost out on making the playoff rounds by a small margin.
Boherlahan Dualla Ladies Football
This week Boherlahan Dualla Ladies Football Club launched the One Good Club program. Lidl One Good Club™, in association with the LGFA and Jigsaw – the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, is a five-step youth mental health awareness programme for LGFA clubs which aims to raise awareness and improve understanding of mental health while empowering clubs to positively affect their members and communities.
The launch of the program was held on Friday May 27th in glorious sunshine at the GAA Astro pitch. We were delighted to have Michael Towey, chairperson of Tipperary Ladies Football and Michelle Putti, Service Manager for Jigsaw in Thurles officially launch the program for us.
The activities will run for the next 10 weeks with a different theme of Jigsaws 5-a-day for Mental Health represented each fortnight. The first theme is Be Active and it was great to see so many players, parents, family, and friends come together on Friday evening for an outdoor Zumba class in the sunshine. Great fun was had by all and a great way to be active as a community. We are continuing our Be active theme this week with a personal step goal to achieve 10000 steps each day.
All our Themes and activities will be posted to our social media channels and are open to everyone to partake in. We are looking forward to the program of events over the weeks ahead.
While on the pitch, this weekend saw the start of the U14 League with the first round against Galtee Rovers. A great performance from the girls and we look forward to the league campaign ahead.
Our youngest players, the U10 team also started their summer blitz season this weekend competing in Clonmel against Cahir, Moyle rovers and Clonmel Commercials. Well done to all the girls who played in these tough games. We are really looking forward to meeting these teams again in next months blitz.
